This means that outfield players get PAC, SHO, PAS, DRI, DEF, and PHY boosted to 99. When playing on Ultimate Difficulty in FUT, the players on the AI controlled team have their FUT Attribute categories boosted to 99. While we are on the topic, we wanted to clarify exactly what happens when you are playing on Ultimate Difficulty in FUT.
This was a visual issue only, as the players were still playing with the intended boost from Ultimate Difficulty. This was previously displaying the base Overall Rating of the player being viewed, however, it was not considering attribute boosts. With TU #4, when you are playing against an AI controlled team in FUT on Ultimate Difficulty, viewing the the Overall Ratings for the AI controlled players will now display ‘Ultimate’ in the Pause Menu’s Player Performance screen. With this update, goalkeepers will be more likely to gather the ball instead of just causing contact, reducing the likelihood of loose ball situations.

These changes have been informed by feedback we’ve received throughout FIFA 20’s development cycle. We are making a number of changes to some Skill Moves. We will be monitoring this issue specifically following the TU to understand if there are any further issues related to this. With the above in place, we believe it will also impact situations in which top rated teams were ending up at the bottom of their league tables, and sometimes getting relegated. This change applies to your existing Career Mode save files, there’s no need to start a new one. There should be fewer instances of a big teams fielding their lower rated players throughout the course of a season.
With this change, AI controlled teams will be fielding stronger lineups in the right situations, resulting in more realistic outcomes in Career Mode.
Here’s one of the key changes we wanted to highlight in this Pitch Notes.
TU #4 contains the first batch of Career Mode changes, based on player feedback from launch, for FIFA 20, with more planned for future. So without further adieu, let’s jump right in.
